MagicJack; was: Re: Read This re: Verizon & AllTell
Helen #5663 Can you use the internet with Magic Jack -- or do you have to have a 'dial up' ISP? I've seen Magic Jack advertised, but never talked to anyone that used it. PennyPA #5664 Helen, the only problem with Magic Jack is that you have to be on the internet to use it. It's a usb thing that plugs into your computer. You can use any phone you want with it. PennyPA toggle quoted messageShow quoted text --- On Fri, 5/1/09, Helen wrote: From: Helen |
Helen #5665 OK -- that's what I thought -- I saw one at the store yesterday and it said something about the internet but I couldn't figure out (from the packaging) if you needed the internet to use it or if you could get to the internet with it. THANKS. Guess that probabably won't solve my problem if Verizon sticks it to me!!! PennyPA #5666 Helen, if you have a Verizon cell phone AND use Verizon to get on the internet, it would remove the expense of the cell phone. We actually have 3 cell phones... Verizon (mine and his) and an ATT pre-paid one that we needed when were were in Concan TX since Verizon didn't have service there. That pre-pay business really isn't that bad at all. If Verizon messes with my cell phone plan, I'll just switch to a good pre-pay phone. The only problem with MJ is that you can't use it when you're out and about. Gotta' be in the house. But you sure can't beat the $19.95/year price! Helen #5667 The first year I was in Rockport, the Alltel connections were horrible! I ended up getting a prepaid Trac phone and it worked out really great! Helen Spring in Central Texas Ramblings: http://theadventuresofbillymax.blogspot.com/ |
